Overview
Simply Hydrate is a personal hydration tracker designed to function primarily on your device without requiring an account or transmitting your personal data to our servers.
Information We Collect
You provide on-device data, including: hydration data you log (drink type, amount, timestamps, consumed status), personalization inputs used to calculate a daily water goal (age, height, weight), and app preferences (e.g., theme mode). Purchase information includes in-app purchase status (e.g., Pro entitlement) and product identifiers via the app store billing system. We do not receive or store your payment card details; these are managed by Apple/Google. We do not collect any automatically generated data for analytics or advertising and do not use third-party analytics SDKs or ad networks.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to calculate and display your daily hydration goal and progress, store your drink logs and personalized settings on your device, process and honor in-app purchases (unlocking Pro features), and optionally display other apps via public App Store metadata (without sending personal data).
Data Storage and Retention
Your data is stored locally on your device using app storage (SharedPreferences/NSUserDefaults) and persists until you delete the app, clear the app’s data, or remove entries within the app (if supported). Depending on your device settings, app data may be included in OS-level backups (e.g., iCloud/Google device backup).
Data Sharing and Transfers
We do not sell your data or share your personal information with third parties for advertising or profiling. Third parties involved in core functionality include Apple/Google for in-app purchases, receipts, and billing, as well as Apple iTunes public API for displaying other apps (requests may expose your IP to Apple as part of normal web traffic). No data is transferred to our servers; the app operates locally.
Permissions
The app does not request access to your location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, or health kits. Network access is solely used for in-app purchase flows via the app stores and for loading public App Store metadata and images for recommended apps.
Security
We utilize platform-provided secure storage mechanisms for preferences and local data where appropriate. Please note that no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure; ensure your device’s operating system is updated and protected.
Children’s Privacy
Simply Hydrate is not directed to children under 13 (or under the minimum age required by local law), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Your Choices and Controls
You can review and edit your personalization inputs in Settings and delete app data by clearing the app’s storage or uninstalling the app. As we do not maintain a backend account, requests like exporting or deleting server data do not apply.
International Users
We do not operate servers for this app; all data remains on your device. Purchases and any external content (e.g., App Store images) are managed by Apple/Google or Apple iTunes public endpoints and may use standard internet routing outside your country.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the app or legal requirements. Updates will be posted within the app or on the app store listing with a new effective date.
